Iron Whey Review

Iron Whey is a protein powder which is part of the Arnold Series, produced by MusclePharm.

It’s designed to provide a source of high-quality protein before or after your workouts, or at any time throughout the day.

The Arnold Series is named after the one-and-only Arnold Schwarzenegger, and consists of a huge range of products for all things bodybuilding.

Active Ingredients

Whey Protein

Whey Protein is a quick-absorbing protein found in cows’ milk.

It’s well-known to boost muscle growth and recovery. This, paired with its rapid absorption, makes it a perfect source of protein for post-workout consumption (1).

Iron Whey contains 3 forms of whey, which are all very pure and fast-digesting.

BCAAs

BCAA is the group term given to the amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

They can’t be made by the body, but are very important for the building of muscle.

BCAAs can prevent muscle breakdown, reduce stress hormone production, and improve recovery time (2).

Lactase

Lactase is an enzyme that helps our bodies break down and absorb lactose, a natural sugar found in cows’ milk.

This is helpful for anyone who tends to get gas or digestion issues after the consumption of dairy products.

Who Takes It?

Any athlete wanting a high-quality source of protein for post-workout or casual consumption will enjoy Iron Whey.

How to Take

Mix 1-2 scoops with 250-500mL water or milk, and consume around workout time, or as desired.

Side Effects

Excess protein consumption can worsen existing kidney or liver conditions.

Pros

  • High-protein, low calorie formula
  • BCAAs to reduce muscle breakdown and improve recovery
  • Multiple flavouring options to suit everyone’s individual tastes.

Cons

  • Label doesn’t tell us the quantity of BCAAs included
  • No special extras.

Conclusion

Iron Whey is a solid, standard protein powder that is perfect for everyday use.

Although it doesn’t have any really special extras like performance-boosting ingredients, it does have an unknown dose of BCAAs and digestive enzymes to prevent digestion issues.

It’s also available in a range of flavours, so you won’t get bored of the same taste every week!
