Jack3d Advanced Review

Jack3d Advanced is a pre-workout formula by USP Labs.

It’s a slightly different version from the original formula, which makes it legal in Australia and New Zealand.

It’s designed to boost energy, pumps, and performance for better workouts.

Active Ingredients

Citrulline

Citrulline is an amino acid that is converted by the body to Nitric Oxide.

This dilates blood vessels, increasing blood flow and the “pump” that you get from lifting weights (1).

It may also reduce muscle soreness in the malate form (2).

The effective dose is about 6-8g.

Arginine Nitrate

Arginine is another Nitric Oxide-boosting amino acid (3).

Arginine Nitrate gives a one-two punch in this area, since Nitrate itself is yet another Nitric Oxide booster.

Creatine Anhydrous

Creatine is one of the most researched and proven performance ingredients.

It’s naturally occurring in animal food products, especially meat.

It increases the production of energy (ATP), which results in increases in strength and power output (4).

Beta Alanine

Beta Alanine is compound that increases the amount of another substance – Carnosine – in the body.

Carnosine decreases the build-up of acid and free radicals from intense exercise. This holds off muscle fatigue, improving endurance (5).

The recommended daily dose is 2-5g.

Higenamine HCL

Higenamine is a compound that has been reported to be similar to Ephedrine, which has fat-burning properties.

Higenamine may be a good alternative, since Ephedrine is highly regulated in Australasia.

It is still relatively under-studied.

The estimated effective dose is 20-30mg, 2-3 times a day.

Caffeine

Caffeine can increase alertness, as well as power output and athletic performance (6).

An effective dose varies with the individual, but is usually 200-500mg.

Pterostilbene

Pterostilbene is a variation of a compound called Resveratrol, and has similar effects.

It is better absorbed, but has less research done on it, and may not act entirely the same.

It has so far been shown to be good for heart health and blood pressure (7).

Who Takes It?

Athletes who want to improve their energy and performance of their workouts will benefit from using Jack3d.

How to Take

Mix 3 scoops with 1.25L of water, and consume before working out.

Side Effects

Creatine increases muscular water retention, meaning you may gain some water weight.

Higenamine is still under-studied, and could have similar side effects to the now-banned Ephedrine.

Beta Alanine can cause a tingling sensation in the face and skin.

Pros

  • Multiple performance-boosting ingredients are used
  • Higenamine HCl could provide a nice extra stimulant kick.

Cons

  • Quantities of most ingredients are not disclosed, so it is hard to tell what is dosed appropriately
  • The high dose of caffeine could result in a bit of a crash, either mid or post-workout.

Conclusion

Jack3d Advanced is a great mix of effective ingredients, with a big hit of caffeine and extra energy from Higenamine.

Unfortunately, they do not disclose the doses of the individual ingredients, which means it is hard to tell if they are supplied in effective amounts or now.

It has plenty of Nitric Oxide and stimulant ingredients, which could be great for energy and pumps.
