HemaVol Review

September 4, 2017 By Editor

HemaVol Review

HemaVol is a pre-workout made by iForce Nutrition.

It’s a stimulant-free formula, designed specifically to improve “the pump”.

iForce Nutrition is an American brand, which offers a range of fitness supplements including protein, pre-workouts, hormonal support, and more.

Ingredients Label

Active Ingredients

Citrulline Malate

Citrulline is an amino acid.

It’s used to boost nitric oxide levels, which are responsible for an effect called “vasodilation”.

This is a widening of the blood vessels, which can improve blood flow, endurance, and pumps (1).

The malate form has also been shown to help with reducing muscle soreness.

An effective dose is 6-8g.

Glycerol

Glycerol is a kind of “sugar-alcohol”.

It improves pumps, but does so by increasing blood volume – specifically plasma (2).

Agmatine

Agmatine, like citrulline, also increases nitric oxide levels in the body (3).

It may also reduce stress and improve mood.

Norvaline

Norvaline is what we call an “arginase inhibitor”.

Put simply, it prevents nitric oxide-producing compounds from being broken down. This allows the pump and endurance effects from the other ingredients to last longer (4).

Alpha GPC

Alpha GPC is a special form of choline – a vitamin important for brain health.

Although it provides benefits for memory and focus, the strong point of alpha GPC is its ability to increase power output (5).

An effective dose is about 600mg.

Epimedium

Epimedium, also known as horny goat weed, is a herb that increases testosterone and libido in animals (6).

We don’t know how well it works in humans yet.

Who Takes It?

Athletes wanting a supplement that will improve their pumps and endurance will benefit from using HemaVol.

How to Take

Mix 1-2 scoops with 250-500mL cold water, and consume 30 minutes before working out.

You may take HemaVol alongside another pre-workout supplement, for enhanced effects.

Side Effects

Epimedium may increase libido and alter mood.

Glycerol may slightly raise blood pressure, while citrulline and agmatine may lower it.

Pros

  • Includes a whole range of pump-inducing ingredients
  • Extra compounds for added effects

Cons

  • No real benefits aside from better pumps, and a small endurance boost
  • The doses of the other ingredients may be a bit low

Conclusion

HemaVol does exactly what it intends to do – give you skin tearing pumps!

It combines two key effects – vasodilation and increasing blood volume – to achieve this in a reliable way, especially at the two-scoop dose.

The other ingredients may slightly improve testosterone and power output, but are dosed very low.

Although HemaVol may not do much aside from improving pumps, it can be easily combined with another pre-workout product since it’s stimulant-free.
