C4 50X Review

February 7, 2017 By Editor

C4 50X Review

C4 50X is a stronger version of C4, a pre-workout supplement by Cellucor.

It uses an extra 50% of all ingredients, giving a bigger boost to those who want more intensity from their pre-workout.

The formula is designed to improve workouts by increasing energy, focus, performance, and pumps.

Cellucor is most famous for the C4 range, which now has many of variations of the original formula. These variations provide an extra edge, such as more fat-burning or extra recovery.

Ingredients Label

c4-50x-ingredients

Active Ingredients:

Creatine Nitrate

Creatine is an organic acid that increases the production of ATP energy in skeletal muscle.

This can increase your strength, power (1) and even endurance (2).

Creatine Nitrate is a less-researched form. The Nitrate component might provide extra benefits by boosting Nitric Oxide levels, which can be great for pumps and endurance (3).

Arginine AKG

Arginine is another Nitric Oxide booster, which dilates blood vessels and can further increase endurance and pumps (4).

The AKG version is better-absorbed than other forms (5).

An effective dose is 3-6g.

Beta Alanine

Beta Alanine is a beta-amino acid that reduces the accumulation of acid and free radicals in the muscles, and can increase your endurance (6).

The recommended dose is 2-5g daily.

Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that reduces the production of stress hormones.

This can increase focus and reduce fatigue (7).

An effective dose is 500-2,000mg.

Caffeine

Caffeine increases alertness, and can also increase strength and endurance in higher doses (8).

An effective dose is between 200 and 500mg.

Mucuna Pruriens

Mucuna Puriens is another name for Velvet Bean, which is a good source of L-DOPA.

It has been shown to increase levels of dopamine and testosterone in men with fertility issues, but may be ineffective in healthy people (10).

An effective dose is 5g of dried Mucuna Pruriens.

Tetramethyluric Acid

Tetramethyluric Acid is similar to caffeine, but people do not build a tolerance to it. This means it can provide an energy boost every time, and does not need to be cycled.

Who Takes It?

Athletes who want a stronger pre-workout than the original C4 will benefit from C4 50X.

How to Take

Mix 1-2 scoops with 250mL of water, and consume before working out.

Do not exceed 2 scoops per day.

Side Effects

Large doses of caffeine and creatine can upset the stomach if taken on an empty stomach or without enough water.

Beta alanine may cause a tingling sensation throughout the body.

Pros

  • Extra doses of ingredients give a bigger boost and enhanced effects per scoop.

Cons

  • The formula is really just the same as the original C4, with a bigger serving size.

Conclusion

C4 50X is a more effective dose of all ingredients found in the original C4, but is really just the same formula, repackaged.

The price is a direct reflection of the increased serving size, which means you would get exactly the same ingredients and doses by taking 1.5 scoops of the original formula.
