AMP Amplified Creatine 189 Review

December 22, 2016 By Editor

AMP Amplified Creatine 189 is a Creatine supplement by GNC.

It’s a one-ingredient formula focused on increasing strength and power output.

GNC is an American retailer that sells other companies’ health products, as well as manufacturing their own.

Active Ingredients

Creatine HCl

Creatine Hydrochloride (Creatine HCl) is a form of Creatine, an organic acid found in many animal food products.

Creatine can significantly boost strength and power output (1). It can also increase endurance, but to a smaller degree (2).

It is claimed by some to be a better-absorbed form than others, including the popular Creatine Monohydrate. Other sources disagree, saying that these two versions are broken down almost identically by the stomach.

This idea of superior absorption is the reason that the serving size of this product is smaller than other typical Creatine products.

More research needs to be done to determine if it is really a superior form of Creatine.

Who Takes It?

Athletes aiming to increase their power output and the quality of their workouts may benefit from using AMP Amplified Creatine 189.

How to Take

Take two tablets daily with 250mL water, either before or after working out.

Side Effects

Although it is claimed to not occur with Creatine HCl, other forms of Creatine are known to increase water retention, resulting in temporary weight gain.

Stomach cramps may occur if Creatine is taken without sufficient water.

If too much Creatine is supplemented at once, it may cause nausea or diarrhea.

Pros

  • Easy-to-take tablet form
  • Huge 120 serves per bottle.

Cons

  • Claims about Creatine HCl are not yet backed up by studies.

Conclusion

AMP Amplified Creatine 189 has potential to be a great Creatine supplement, but most of the claims about Creatine HCl are yet to be proven by reputable studies.

The unique tablet-form makes it nice and easy to take, allowing you to avoid the typical gritty texture and awkward taste of Creatine.

It may be worth a try, but if you don’t notice any improvements we recommend switching back to cheaper Creatine Monohydrate products.
