Alpha Amino Ultimate Review

Alpha Amino Ultimate is an amino acid supplement made by Cellucor.

It’s designed to improve muscle retention and recovery, as well as improve workout performance.

Cellucor is an American supplement company, which is best known for its pre-workout supplement, C4 Extreme.

Ingredients Label

Active Ingredients

BCAAs

Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) are specific building blocks of proteins which are most important for muscle growth and repair.

When taken around the time of exercise, they can reduce muscle breakdown, as well as speed up recovery time (1).

Glutamine

Glutamine is another amino acid that’s been shown to improve muscle repair, when taken on its own.

If you’re already using BCAAs, however, it’s been shown to be unnecessary to use both (2).

HMB

HMB is a metabolite of leucine, the most important BCAA.

Similar to the other BCAAs, it’s been shown to be excellent for preventing the breakdown of muscle, and may also decrease fat mass (3).

Betaine

Betaine is a natural compound, which has been shown to increase power output.

It might also improve lean body mass and fat loss (4).

The effective dose is around 2.5g.

Coconut Water Powder

Coconut water is rich in electrolyte, which have been shown to improve performance and recovery when consumed around the time of working out (5, 6).

Creatine Hydrochloride

Creatine is a naturally occurring acid, which has proven to be effective for improving power output in athletes (7).

It has been claimed that the hydrochloride form is more effective in small doses than the more traditional creatine monohydrate, however this is yet to be proven.

Who Takes It?

Athletes wanting to improve their muscle retention and recovery, as well as boost their workout performance, will enjoy using Alpha Amino Ultimate.

How to Take

Mix 1 scoop (17.2g) with 250-350mL water, and consume either during or after working out.

Side Effects

Creatine may upset the stomach if taken without sufficient food or water. It may also result in a slight increase in bodyweight from water retention.

Pros

  • Extra ingredients for physical performance
  • Contains HMB in addition to the BCAAs, for better muscle retention
  • Coconut water extract for improved recovery.

Cons

  • It contains so many extra ingredients that it can’t include complete doses of all of them
  • Some of the doses are hidden in blends.

Conclusion

Alpha Amino Ultimate is an excellent amino acid product, which does much more than just provide BCAAs.

Cellucor throws in a whole range of extra ingredients in this formula, which are designed to improve your power output, recovery, muscle retention, and more.

It’s stimulant-free, so you can pair it with a pre-workout for extra-enhanced results!
