San Nutrition RawFusion Review

San Nutrition RawFusion Review

RawFusion is a plant-based protein powder made by San Nutrition.

It’s a vegan-approved product, designed to assist with building lean mass.

San Nutrition is an American supplement company, founded in 1996.

Ingredients Label

Active Ingredients

Pea Protein

Pea protein is one of the most commonly used plant-based proteins.

Although not all proteins are created equal, pea protein passes the amino acid quality test; it has been shown to contain similar BCAA (branched-chain amino acid) levels as whey protein (1).

BCAAs are the amino acids that are most relevant to muscle growth.

Rice Protein

Rice protein is another great plant-based source of protein.

It contains extra amounts of the amino acids that are lacking in pea protein (and vice-versa), making the two proteins a great combination (2).

Artichoke Protein

Although not as prominent as the other two protein sources, artichoke is another great plant-based protein source.

Like the others, it contains a fair share of BCAAs (3).

Who Takes It?

Vegan athletes, or those with allergies to traditional milk-protein powders, would benefit from using RawFusion.

How to Take

Mix 1 scoop (30.13g) with 250mL water or other beverage, and consume either post-workout or as needed.

Side Effects

Excess protein consumption can worsen an existing kidney or liver condition.

Pea protein may not be ideal if you are prone to gout.

Pros

  • Vegan-approved
  • Affordable
  • Range of flavours available.

Cons

  • Not quite as many BCAAs per serving as whey protein.

Conclusion

RawFusion is a great plant-based protein powder.

San Nutrition have put plenty of thought into the taste, texture, and price, while also maintaining good proportions of amino acids.

It’s a very affordable protein supplement for vegans, people with milk allergies, or those who just want a new alternative to traditional protein powders.
