Pumped Edge is a pre-workout supplement, made by BSN.
It’s a stimulant-free formula, designed for improving pumps and physical performance.
BSN is an American supplement company which was founded in the state of Florida, in 2011.
Citrulline and Arginine
Nitric oxide causes a widening of blood vessels, known as vasodilation. This can increase blood-flow, pumps, and endurance.
An effective dose of each is around 6g.
Glycerol is a type of sugar-alcohol.
It improves vascularity and pumps by increasing blood volume, via “plasma expansion” (3).
Astragalus is a herb used in traditional Chinese medicine.
Studies in mice show that it may have anti-fatigue effects and improve exercise endurance (4).
Resveratrol is a compound found in grapes and red wine.
Creatine is an organic acid that occurs naturally in animal food products.
Supplementation with creatine has been shown to improve physical performance, especially in terms of power output (7).
Three different forms of creatine are used in Pumped Edge, although the most-researched form is creatine monohydrate.
Bioperine is a trademarked name for a compound found in black pepper, which may increase the absorption of other ingredients.
Who Takes It?
Athletes wanting to improve their pumps, performance, and general health may benefit from using Pumped Edge.
How to Take
Mix 1 scoop (12g) with 250mL cold water, and consume 30-60 minutes before working out.
You can also combine Pumped Edge with a serving of a high-stimulant pre-workout for enhanced effects.
Creatine increases water retention in the muscles, meaning you may gain some water weight. It can also cause stomach cramping or diarrhoea if not taken with sufficient water.
Glycerol is banned by the World Anti-Doping Association, if consumed in large amounts.
Resveratrol may interfere with progress made from training.
- Includes ingredients to improve pumps, endurance, and strength
- Extra health benefits from other ingredients
- Multiple flavor options.
- The doses of citrulline and arginine are too little in this formula
Pumped Edge is a somewhat disappointing formula, which only has a few positive effects.
Although it’s likely to somewhat improve some workout factors, key ingredients are under-dosed. This is especially true for arginine and citrulline.
If you’re looking for a good simulant-free pre-workout, this may not be your best option.
