Psychotic Review

March 11, 2018 By Author1

Psychotic Review

Psychotic is a pre-workout supplement made by Insane Labz.

It’s designed to improve energy levels and athletic performance, for better workouts.

Insane Labz is an American supplement company, based in Arkansas.

Ingredients Label

Active Ingredients

Beta Alanine

Beta alanine is an anti-fatigue ingredient.

It’s been shown to be converted by the body to carnosine, a compound that fights free radical and acid build-up during exercise (1).

The effective dose is 2-5g.

Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine is a compound found naturally in animal products.

Supplementing with creatine has been shown to boost power output and endurance (2, 3).

An effective dose is 3-5g, taken daily.

Caffeine

We know that caffeine is helpful for increasing energy levels and alertness.

Of equal importance is the positive effect it can have on athletic performance, which has been observed with higher doses (4).

Theobromine

Theobromine is a mild stimulant which is found in cocoa.

Studies show that it can effectively increase cognitive performance, as well as improve mood (5).

Juniper Berry

Juniper berry is a seed cone with diuretic effects.

It can trigger quicker losses of sodium and water, which can lead to a leaner look (6).

Cordyceps Sinesis

Cordyceps Sinesis is a type of caterpillar fungus, used in Chinese medicine.

It’s been shown to have a whole range of benefits, including antioxidant, anti-tumour, and immune-boosting effects (7).

Gotu Kola

Gotu kola is a traditional medicine with brain-boosting properties.

It’s been shown to improve memory and mood, and may also reduce stress levels (8, 9).

Who Takes It?

Athletes wanting to boost their energy and performance levels during workouts may benefit from using Psychotic.

How to Take

Mix 1 scoop (7.4g) with 250mL water, and consume 30 minutes before your workout.

Side Effects

May upset the stomach if taken on an empty stomach, or without sufficient food or water.

Beta alanine can trigger a harmless tingling sensation in the face and skin.

Pros

  • Uses some very proven ingredients, and mixes them with newer additions
  • Includes cognitive- and immune-boosting properties
  • Huge range of flavours to choose from.

Cons

  • Doses hidden in proprietary blend
  • No pump-enhancing ingredients
  • Juniper berry has a temporary visual effect, without any lasting benefits.

Conclusion

Psychotic is a pre-workout which would energy, focus, and physical performance, had the doses been adequate.

Unfortunately, the proprietary blend isn’t large enough to contain clinically effective doses of all the ingredients.

If your caffeine tolerance permits, you may get better results from taking 2 scoop servings.
