Psyched 2.0 is a pre-workout supplement made by Gen-Tec.
It’s intended to increase focus, pumps, and performance, without an energy crash.
Gen-Tec Nutrition was founded by Australian bodybuilder Nick Jones, back in 1999.

Active Ingredients
Creatine Monohydrate
Creatine is a naturally-occurring compound that increases power output via extra production of our body’s energy source: ATP (1).
The most proven form is monohydrate, which has a recommended dose of 3-5g daily.
Arginine AKG
Arginine is a nitric-oxide booster.
Higher levels of nitric oxide in the body contribute to better pumps and endurance, by dilating blood vessels (2).
The AKG version is a better-absorbed form (3).
Citrulline Malate
Citrulline is another nitric-oxide booster, which becomes arginine, and then nitric oxide.
Funnily enough, it raises arginine levels in the body better than arginine itself (4).
An effective dose is 6-8g.
Tyrosine
L-Tyrosine is a compound that reduces fatigue, and can increase concentration and focus under stressful conditions (5).
500-2,000mg is an effective dose.
Caffeine
We know caffeine can increase alertness.
Less commonly known, however, is that it can also improve athletic performance (6).
An effective dose is usually 200-500mg.
Who Takes It?
Athletes wanting to improve their workouts in terms of energy, pumps, and focus may benefit from using Psyched 2.0.
How to Take
Mix 1 scoop (5g) with 250mL water and consume 15-30 minutes before your workout.
Side Effects
Creatine can cause a slight increase in water weight, and stomach cramping if taken without sufficient water.
Caffeine can interfere with sleep if taken within a several hours of bed time.
Pros
- The formula uses a combination of tried and tested ingredients
- A few ingredients are included for a range of benefits, from performance to pumps.
Cons
- Some of the doses are unjustifiably low, especially for arginine and citrulline.
Conclusion
Psyched 2.0 is a fairly plain formula, which uses a bunch of the most proven pre-workout ingredients.
It doesn’t contain anything special, and unfortunately doses most of its ingredients fairly low compared to the clinically-effective doses.
It should be effective for improving energy levels and workout quality, but don’t expect anything mind-blowing.
