In-Kaged Review

In-Kaged Review

In-Kaged is an intra-workout supplement made by Kaged Muscle.

It’s designed to improve workout performance and reduce muscle breakdown during workouts.

Kaged Muscle is an American supplement company, founded in 2015.

Ingredients Label

Active Ingredients

BCAAs

Branched chain amino acids are important building blocks for muscle growth and repair.

Studies show them to be extremely effective for preventing muscle breakdown and boosting recovery time (1).

BCAAs cannot be made by the human body, so it’s essential that they’re consumed via diet or supplements.

Citrulline

Citrulline is an amino acid, which is known to increase nitric oxide levels.

Nitric oxide is responsible for “vasodilation”, a widening of the blood vessels. This can improve blood flow, endurance, and pumps (2).

The effective dose is 6-8g.

Beta Alanine

Beta alanine is a compound which improves endurance.

It delays fatigue by increasing levels of carnosine, which can counteract the build-up of acid and free-radicals caused by exercise (3).

The effective dose is 2-5g daily.

Coconut Water Concentrate

Coconut water is an excellent source of electrolytes.

Studies have demonstrated that it’s very effective for improving rehydration after exercise (4, 5).

Taurine

Taurine is an amino acid which has a range of benefits, including the enhanced uptake of water and minerals into muscle cells.

Research has also shown it to reduce muscle fatigue during exercise (6).

Tyrosine

Tyrosine is an amino acid which can reduce the production of stress hormones.

This can improve performance under stress or fatigue (7).

The effective dose is 500-2,000mg.

Caffeine

Caffeine, the popular stimulant is well-known for its ability to improve energy and alertness.

At higher doses, however, it can also enhance athletic performance (8).

Who Takes It?

Athletes wanting to prevent muscle breakdown and improve their workouts will enjoy using In-Kaged.

How to Take

Mix 1 scoop (16.6g) with 500mL water, and consume during your workout.

Side Effects

Beta alanine may cause a tingling sensation in the face and skin.

High doses of caffeine can trigger anxiety or rapid heartbeat.

Pros

  • BCAAs for muscle preservation
  • Endurance and energy ingredients to improve workouts.

Cons

  • Not big enough doses as a standalone product.

Conclusion

In-Kaged is a great intra-workout product for those who are already using a pre- or post-workout formula with similar ingredients.

It combines a solid dose of BCAAs for muscle preservation, with a bunch of fatigue-reducing and endurance-enhancing ingredients to optimise your workout quality.

Unfortunately, the doses of some of these ingredients are small, and designed to those found in Kaged Muscle’s pre-workout, Pre-Kaged. Without this combination, many of the ingredients in In-Kaged may not be very effective.

It is, however, an improvement upon many other amino-acid supplements, which don’t usually include this many helpful extras.
