Evogen Carnigen Review

Evogen Carnigen Review

Carnigen is a fat-burning supplement made by Evogen.

It’s a simple carnitine-based formula, aimed at improving your fat loss while dieting.

Evogen is an American supplement brand, founded by Hany Rambod – a trainer of many pro athletes, including Olympia champion Jeremy Buendia.

Active Ingredients

Carnitine

Carnitine is an amino acid which is important for energy metabolism.

Although it’s commonly used to assist with fat-loss, studies show that it might only be effective for this in those that are deficient.

There are, however, additional benefits in the different forms of the compound.

Some of these benefits include better insulin sensitivity, increased concentration, and improved physical performance (1, 2, 3).

The effective dose for most forms is around 2000mg.

Caffeine

Caffeine, most commonly found in coffee beans, can increase energy levels and metabolic rate.

This means that in addition to helping you feel more awake and energetic, it also increases the amount of calories you burn, even at rest (4).

An effective dose is around 200mg, but can vary with the individual.

Who Takes It?

Athletes who want to improve their fat loss, concentration, and energy levels while dieting may benefit from using Carnigen.

How to Take

Mix 1-2 scoops with 115mL cold water, and consume around the time of your workout.

Side Effects

Large doses of caffeine can trigger a rapid heartbeat – do not take Carnigen with other sources of caffeine.

Pros

  • Multiple forms of carnitine provide a variety of different benefits
  • The addition of caffeine increases metabolic rate and further improves energy

Cons

  • Carnitine may not be effective for fat-loss benefits unless you are deficient in carnitine
  • The dose of carnitine in each scoop is only half of the effective dose, but double-scooping might provide too much caffeine for the average person.

Conclusion

Carnigen has a nice little edge on competitor carnitine fat-burner products, which typically only include one form of carnitine and no extra ingredients.

The addition of caffeine is great for increased energy and further fat loss, while the multiple forms of carnitine in the formula may add extra benefits of focus and improved power output.

The overall dose of carnitine, however, is a little low. Only those with a good caffeine tolerance will be able to get away with taking 2 scoops at a time.
