MusclePharm Creatine is a blend of five different types of creatine.

MusclePharm Nutrition have been creating cutting edge sports and bodybuilding supplements since 2003. Their products are now available in more than 100 countries.

Active Ingredients

Creatine Monohydrate

Creatie monohydrate is the most scientifically proven type of creatine (1).

It has been shown to increase short term training energy, strength and endurance by converting ADP back into useable energy in the form of ATP (2, 3).

Muscle Pharm use the world’s most highly regarded monohydrate, Creapure.

Creatine HCL

Creatine Hydrochloride is a variant of monohydrate.

Manufacturers claim it requires much smaller doses to be effective, however this has no scientific backing.

But it is the reason that Muscle Pharm advertise this product as not requiring a loading phase.

Other Types of Creatine

The other types of creatine in this Muscle Pharm blend – Creatine AAB, DiCreatine Malate, Creatine Nitrate – have not been proven to be any more effective than creatine monohydrate.

Cinnulin

Cinnulin has been added to this mix in order to speed up the absorption of the different types of creatine in the blend.

Who Takes It?

Muscle Pharm Creatine is created for people who are involved in short term, explosive exercise such as weight training and sprinting.

It is taken by recreational and professional bodybuilders and other athletes.

How to Take

Take 3 scoops of Muscle Pharm Creatine once per day.

This will supply you with 5 grams of creatine.

Muscle Pharm state there is no need to pre-load when taking their product.

Side Effects

Creatine is a natural product which has been extensively studied by the medical community.

No serious side effects have been identified.

However, some people may have such reactions as diahhrea and bloating.

Be sure to drink plenty of water as it has a slight dehydrating effect.

Pros

  • Cinnulin for potentially faster absorption
  • No loading phase required.

Cons

  • No scientific backing for four of the five creatine blends.

Conclusion

Muscle Pharm Creatine is a complex blend of 5 different types of creatine, boosted with Cinullin to speed up digestibility.

None of the variants, however, have been proven to be more effective than creatine monoydrate.

It seems more cost-effective to supplement with straight creatine monohydrate, which we know works well.
