Active Ingredients
Creatine Hydrochloride
Creatine is an organic acid that occurs naturally in a range of animal food products.
It boosts the production of energy (ATP) in muscle, increasing power output and endurance (1, 2).
There are claims that Creatine Hydrochloride is needed in much smaller doses than other forms of Creatine, however reputable sources claim that it appears to act the same as the more common Monohydrate form.
Who Takes It?
Any athlete wishing to increase their overall physical performance and lean mass may benefit from Con-Cret Creatine HCl.
How to Take
Mix 1 scoop with 250mL water daily, and consume with a high-carb meal.
Side Effects
Creatine may increase muscle water retention. A rapid increase in water weight of around 2-3kg is common.
Stomach cramping can occur if Creatine is taken with insufficient water.
If too much Creatine is supplemented at once, it may cause nausea or diarrhoea.
Pros
- Mixes better with water than other forms of Creatine
Cons
- More expensive than Creatine Monohydrate
Conclusion
Con-Cret Creatine HCl is a very easy-to-mix Creatine product that may or may not be more effective than other forms of Creatine.
It is more expensive than other Creatine products, but it may pay to try it out and see how you respond.
I prefer to stick with tried and tested creatine monohydrate.
