Hyper Amino Review

September 8, 2017 By Editor

Hyper Amino Review

Hyper Amino is an amino acid product made by Gaspari Nutrition.

It’s a multi-ingredient formula, used to improve muscle retention, recovery, and fat-loss.

Gaspari Nutrition was founded in the United States in 1998, by former pro bodybuilder Rich Gaspari.

Active Ingredients

BCAAs

Branched chain amino acids, also known as BCAAs, are amino acids that are key for muscle growth and repair.

They are well-known for their ability to improve recovery, as well as preventing muscle breakdown while working out (1).

BCAAs are a subset of a group of the “essential” amino acids below, but have been listed separately on the label.

Glutamine

Glutamine is an amino acid that is also well-known for assisting with muscle development.

However, research shows that it may not be necessary for those who already consume sufficient levels of protein or BCAAs (2).

Citrulline and Arginine

Citrulline and arginine are both amino acids which increase levels of nitric oxide (3, 4).

Nitric oxide can activate a widening of blood vessels, known as vasodilation. This increases blood-flow and endurance.

Essential Amino Acids

Essential amino acids (EAAs) are the amino acids which the human body can’t create on its own.

Usually these are obtained through a wide range of food sources, but they can also be isolated into supplement form.

This allows you to easily consume an ideal ratio of these amino acids, without the extra calories from food.

Green Tea

Tea leaves contain a group of compounds we call green tea catechins.

Research has shown that they can improve fat oxidation significantly, as well as improve insulin sensitivity (5).

Ilex Guayusa and Guarana

Both Ilex Guayusa and Guarana are natural sources of caffeine, which we’re assuming is what’s been extracted here.

Caffeine can improve alertness, metabolic rate, and athletic performance (6, 7).

Who Takes It?

Athletes who want to reduce muscle breakdown, improve recovery, and boost fat-loss may benefit from using Hyper Amino.

How to Take

Mix 1-2 scoops (10-20g) in enough water to match your desired level of sweetness.

Consume either during your workout, or as desired.

Side Effects

High doses of caffeine can interfere with sleep, and may trigger rapid heartbeat or anxiety in those with pre-existing issues.

Pros

  • Extra fat-burning and energy ingredients
  • Full range of amino acids, rather than just BCAAs
  • Multiple flavours available

Cons

  • Glutamine may not be useful alongside the other amino acids
  • The amino “blend” is small, and indicates that some of the ingredients are under-dosed.

Conclusion

Hyper Amino is a formula that provides extra fat-burning and energy effects compared to a regular amino acid product.

It may, however, fall short on doses of BCAAs and nitric-oxide boosting ingredients. This is disappointing since they’re some of the main components for growth and recovery.

This could be overcome by doubling the dosage, but hiding quantities of ingredients in a blend is a bad sign.
